Police Car Sirens

I have just purchased Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for x box and I don't know how to activate or deactivate sirens in emergency vehicles it is real annoying when I steal a cop car and the siren is on and I can't turn it off the previous versions of this game you just hit the left thumb stick. When the siren is off all that happens when I hit the left thumb stick the horn honks.
I sure could use a answer in this matter.

All you should have to do is 'tap' the left thumbstick button...

Yeah... if you HOLD the left thumbstick in the sirens will wail, TAP the left thumbstick and the horn will honk & DOUBLE TAP the left thumbstick and the sirens will turn off and on.

yep..i always had trouble with this subject on the other GTA's on PS2

I didn't think I was as stupid as you look about this game but when I click the left thumb stick twice the horn honks twice you dumb asses You didn't help a bit.

If you double tap it twice really fast it turns it off.....

Excuse me, but I believe that insulting other users was uncalled for in consideration they were trying to help you out with GTA when you asked for it.
