Halo 3 Releasing June 2006?

An updated listing on GameStop.com, has Bungie's Halo 3 set for release on the first of June - next year. Don't count the days yet - GameStop.com also states on the page that the 'price, release date, content and title are subject to change and/or cancellation by the vendor.'

The listing shortly follows Bill Gates’ comments on the Halo 3 release date, where Gates mentioned that Microsoft would release the game to coincide with the launch of Sony's next PlayStation platform. It's possible that GameStop.com just created this new record based on Bill Gates’ previous comments.

The product page lists the game as selling for $59.99, a rumored price for the whole first-party Xbox 360 game library.

What do you guys think about this? I know its a year away, but if Halo 3 is going to be as good as Halo 2 and 1 was when it came out... this game is going to be inane :ph34r:

When do you think Halo 3 will come out? Before, after or in June 06 or is it still waayyy to early to tell?

i agree it is to early to put a percise date on its release, i wish the price would stay the same at $50 at release time, but i guess and extra $10 isnt bad for next gen games. i mean personly i would pay upwards of $150 for halo3. June1st sounds like a good time, but i dont like waiting im not a very patient person so i would rather it come out sooner.

Just the Xbox 360. You won't be able to play Xbox 360 games on an Xbox :p

The game is sure to blow all of us away. Hopefully it captures my favorite elements from Halo and its successor and blends all of them together to create for a terrific finale for the series. Halo 3 is rumored to be the last in the series, but if MS is smart, they won't just stop at that. With Bungie's acquisition of more employees and a bigger development studio, it wouldn't be hard to create titles within two different franchises. Bungie also wants to do something different as they've said before in various interviews.



Another Myth game wouldn't hurt either...
