It's a bit more complicated than that. The Xbox was built on an Intel x86 processor. The 360 is built on a PowerPC processor. Totally different architectures. The Xbox was also built with an Nvidia GPU (Graphics card), the 360 uses an ATI. Totally different programming API's for those two technologies. There will be games that they will be able to make backwards compatible, but there is no way the entire library will be.
