Have you guys seen all the news about the new Xbox 360 unit? It is interesting, but what I love is that Microsoft can never keep things under wraps. Somehow, all their big announcements always get leaked.

Lol, Sony is already commenting on it even though MS has said absolutely nothing about it. Senior Vice President of Marketing Peter Dille:

"We think every PlayStation 3 owner should have an “elite” experience, which is why we include an internal hard drive and HDMI output in every PS3 we sell, along with the 50 GB of storage capacity on a high definition Blu-ray disc. Sony has been the strongest advocate of high definition as the future of next-generation gaming. This requires high-definition components, including HDMI output, and large storage devices to deliver and store all that rich and vivid HD content. Microsoft’s announcement today not only legitimizes Sony’s PS3 strategy, it moves us closer to adopting universal standards in the area of high definition gaming that will benefit game developers and ultimately the end user."

Um, maybe some other people should jump in here so it doesn't look like I am just talking to myself

Anyway, I hate to bash MS because they have a great console, but they are still way off from matching the PS3. The strangest thing is that the Elite still has a standard DVD drive, yet there is an HDMI port coming out the back. So if you want to watch HD DVDs you still have to buy the pricey HD DVD drive. The Elite also doesn't have built in wireless. And who needs 120 GB? Seriously, marketplace downloads are not that big and 20GBs is fine. Oh yeah, and no card readers, but who cares about that?

The only thing I want is a black wireless controller, that looks hot.

If I could trade my 360 in for an elite,I would! As for the 120 GB hardrive,eventually I will probably get one. Anyway the black 360 does look nice!

The black 360 is limited edition. After that they are making them all white with the new add ons. The 120GB drive will be good for the people interested in DLing TV shows and movies and the reason they didnt include the HD-DVD drive is because the blue ray format is pulling ahead in popularity and MS didnt want something that could possibly become obsolete in their system.

This is pretty good new for people without an Xbox that are looking to get one (like me

). ALOEUS, if you could answer a few questions for me, that would be cool:

1. How much will it be?
2. You said black is the limited edition, but once black is sold out, will the upgrades be part of the Premium or just a white Elite?

It's supposed to retail for $479.00. The upgrades will be part of the Premium bundle. No "white Elite."

I'm so getting the black Elite.

I heard that they wont be that limited so there will be plenty to go around. Still getting one ASAP just to make sure.

Yep. I'm getting one right when they launch on April 29th. They're supposed to run like 100,000 of them, so they're not going to be all that rare.
