Default Blue Dragon

Taken from www.RPGamer.com

Mystwalker has shed a little more light on the battle system for the upcoming Blue Dragon. Enemy monsters will be visible on the field map and contact with them will innitiate battle. Though that seems pretty standard, there is a twist to make it more interesting. Before battle, players can open an "encounter circle" around their character to begin back-to-back battles with any monsters within it. But the player won't be the only one doing the fighting. Should any of the enemies have bad relations with one another, the monsters within the circle will fight amongst themselves.
I thought that sounded kinda cool, it might make the battles a bit more interesting if you can get the monsters to start fighting each other.

Anyone here going to pick this game up when it comes out?

I've only been dying for this game for months now.

That is a pretty neat twist. I bet there's ways to manipulate monsters hating other monsters. Probably through items or subquests. Otherwise, it would be too random and pointless, I think.

I bet it's just during the regular duration of the game. I'm sure there will be monsters that don't get along wondering on the battlefield together. Maybe they just won't fight each other until they come in contact with your character. Kind of like fighting over who gets to eat you first.

It very well could be, DWS. In fact, I foresee increased 360 sales because of it!

Jeez man, you've been missing out. There's MUCH better games than the Lunar series, as good as they are. Have you played many others or are you just saying that nothing has captivated you since the Lunar series?

And the Lunar series was only on Sega CD, by the way. But I guess that's technically still on the Genesis.

I have not played really much of anything else, and definitely nothing has captivated me! I have quite a few JRPG's on my Xbox(modded) which I have not even looked at! Kind of not interested in the genre. But for some reason Blue Dragon peaked my interest
