Default backwards compatible

OK, this just occured to me. IF they do make 360 backwards compatible *crosses fingers* and I mean backwards compatible not just with "top selling games" but anyways back to my point. How will you transfer your saved data from xbox to the 360? The memory units from xbox wont work with the 360, and I don't see any other way of doing it.

I am pretty sure they already announced that it would only be backwards compatible with only a few games, but things could always change. If they allow you to transfer your old data at all, you will probably be able to use a cross-over cable or something. But I am just guessing. I think they just won't allow you to do it at all.

Microsoft has signed a deal to license Nvidia's graphics technology in order to have the Xbox 360 backwards compatible--finally putting to rest the question that lingered behind current-gen Xbox users.

The next-gen 360 uses an ATI chipset, whereas the current Xbox uses an Nvidia chipset. Since the two companies are rivals in the GPU market, many analysts were skeptical that Microsoft would deliver. The company made a cryptic announcement at E3, saying the "best-selling" Xbox titles would work on the Xbox 360.

Microsoft since then has become more optimistic about backwards compatibility, with Microsoft Xbox PR Manager Michael Wolf saying, "our goal is to make all Xbox games play on Xbox 360, and at launch we'll have a selection of the top selling that will be tested and confirmed to work."

Or sell it and not have that hulking tank of a system in your entertainment unit. woo hoo for backwards capability =). The 360 will take a lot less space, and look a lot nicer in front of your t.v.

L3e and Spawner were right. We all know that the 360 will be compatible with at least the top-selling xbox games. Therefore you will probably be able to use something like a system-link cable from the xbox to the xbox360 and be able to transfer your xbox saved data to the 360's removable hard drive. And part of that deal that microsoft made with Nvidia was that they would have to pay them to be able to make there games backwards compatible. Hopefully, they will pay them enough so that every xbox game will work on the 360.

No, it isn't...it's them trying to take the cheap way out and not completely look like cheap bastards. The little kiddies who make their parents buy them all the newest systems may be happy with just the top selling games being backwards compatible, because chances are those are the only ones they have. But true gamers like us can see this is just Microsoft being cheap as hell... and if your like me, your not too happy about it.
