Well I may be walking out on a small branch when I say this but I would guess.....yeah. I mean cmon man, the Halo franchise made the Xbox, they would be stupid if it wasnt.

It was announced today that both Halos will be compatible AND upconvert to 720p if you play on an HDTV. (Also works without the Hard drive according to Bungie).

You will be able to play more than just halo (1 and 2), more games will be available on the 360, when time goes by.
I'm not sure, but I think Forza Motorsport will be backwards compatible because I saw a screenshot of Forza running and the xbox guide was open and it said something about forza "mod shop" on it.
So not just halo (1 and 2) will be on the 360, other games will too but they will also fix some of the games problems with framerate or other problems as updates come.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what games will be backwards compatible.
