My Review: Star Wars Battlefront 2
Platform: Xbox
Publisher: LucasArts
Developer: Pandemic

Well, after many months of wait, Battlefront 2 is finally out. Let me tell you this: I've never seen a better use of the Star Wars license in a videogame. Graphics
The game has very nice graphics, as the particle explosions, laser fire, and grenades make you feel like you’re right in the action. The characters are modeled well and fit the Star Wars theme very nicely. The light saber effects are awesome. The camera is great, but sometimes flips out at weird angles, usually only when you’re in a star fighter. Audio
The audio in the game is pretty much all Star Wars music from the movies, with little changes here and there. The gunfire and grenades sound like they should, explosions sound very realistic. It’s an awesome experience to hear your allies and enemies yelling “Grenade, Grenade!” or “It’s Obi-Wan!” It’s an immersive effect that works wonderfully. Controls
The controls in Battlefront 2 take a little bit of time to get used to. All in all it’s a control scheme that works well. If you don’t like it, you can always create your own custom one for any control group (Jedi, Infantry, Star fighter, etc.) It’s a nice feature that’s nice to have. Gameplay
The gameplay plays similar to EA’s Battlefield series where you capture control points to force the enemy reinforcement count down. Every time someone dies, you lose a reinforcement point. After one side loses all their reinforcement points, they lose. However, there are 3 other gametypes that you can play. Assault, which only is available in space battles, makes you earn points by destroying critical systems on enemy ships, destroying their frigates, or taking down enemy fighters. The space combat system works as it should. You can also play 1-flag CTF. In this mode you try to get the neutral flag to the enemy base. This can prove an extreme challenge sometimes. The last mode is your standard 2-flag CTF. You grab their flag and bring it back to your base. Your AI teammates and enemies can be extremely stupid sometimes, but are usually pretty smart. The AI can get caught at choke points easily, but that’s to be expected. Multiplayer
If you played the last Battlefront, you know the online wasn’t very good. Taking that to mind, LucasArts made Battlefront 2’s online much better. Finding games is pretty easy. The game can lag occasionally, but it doesn’t interfere with the game to much. The server can decide from a host of options such as Maps, use of heroes, and gametypes. The online is a very fun addition to Battlefront 2. The split screen is pretty much Battlefront 2 with more people. And finally you are able to have 2 people split-screen online. Final Score
The game’s sound, graphics and gameplay come together to execute a fun, enjoyable game that is a great game for any Star Wars fan, but is good for someone who likes mass-action games. Graphics: 9.5/10
Audio: 9.8/10
Controls: 10/10
Multiplayer: 9.0/10
Final Score: 9.2/10
The Final Score is not an average.
