Default Clearing Allocated Memory?

Hi, it's me paper martyo.
I've been going to school alot and haven't got alot of time on the forums lately and have been umn... doing summer breaks
So anyone who does remember me, hi!

I've been having trouble with "Allocated memory" some software i use gives me wierd error saying it could not write the memory or somthing like that...

I dunno if it's teh software, lack of memory, whatever.. But i wanna get dis' problem fixed. It's been bugging me forever. I use RamBooster and it works ok (lil bit faster performance) but it still does not get rid of those errors!

I have 1GB of ram so it's probebly just allocating the memory by some of the software i'm using. But i really wanna use the software still... Is there a way to prevent these errors on windows XP? Please help me!!

You're going to have to do some research. Provisioning memory via a third-party utilitiy is not usually a recommended practice.

Dude. You always run your memory in pairs and like sizes. If you have two 1GB sticks in there now, put in two more 1GB sticks or upgrade to 2 2GB sticks.

'Cause they suck.

I've never seen one with only three memory slots, but I work mostly with servers. Does yours have only 3 slots? If it has four, use them because memory USUALLY works in "banks" of two.

Like I said, my experience is mostly with servers, not so much with home PCs, so your mobo may not "suck". At any rate, in your case, you need to find the documentation on your motherboard and find out the max number of RAM it supports. Even if it has three slots and 2GB sticks fit, doesn't mean your mobo supports that amount. When you know that number, your memory should be the same quantity in each slot to match that maximum size. For example:

Motherboard max RAM = 3072GB
RAM slots (DDR, SDRAM, DDR2, etc.) = 3
RAM you should put in = 3 sticks of 1GB (1GB = 1024, 1024 x 3 = 3072)

I was going to say the same thing, but Crusader said it right. Just so you know, if you don't bank up properly, your computer won't recognize the amount of memory. If yours is correctly banked, it should say the exact amount when you right click "my computer" and look at the properties. If it coincides with the amount you put in, then it should be good.
