Windows Vista - Page 2

I put Vista on my high-end gaming rig and removed it the same damn day. It's such a hog. My startup time went from like 30 seconds to 2 minutes. My sound card didn't work right anymore (the interface and settings, actually), and I'd have slowdown changing between applications.

It's a pile of ****.

I guess i'll just wait til service pack 20358 before I even try Vista on my computer. Probably need to upgrade the damn computer too.

I ran it again for about a month, and it was decent, didn't lag me too bad. I reformatted when I couldn't find LAN server in CSS etc at a LAN.

I just bought a new laptop that is running Vista Home Premium. After I stopped some of the startup programs, and removed all the programs I don't need, it runs pretty well. I do indeed like XP pro better becuase it's less of a resource hog, I have to admit that Vista does look very good and doesn't perform too bad if you properly set it up.

I have had a copy of Vista since it came out (laptop came with XP installed and then I got the CD for Vista for free later.) But I haven't installed it and don't plan to.
