Mod Orientation The entire topic of mods and what they can do to help facilitate VGCore seems to be a hot topic of late.
My suggestion is: since there are mods (or ex-mods) who were reprimended for doing something which, by the Deities of VGC, is considered offensive or what-not, when he/she him/herself thinks that what he/she is doing is CONTRIBUTING to VGC rather than doing anything negative, I suggest that every mod go through an orientation of sorts; a debriefing on what framework they must abide by.
Why I'm saying this is because IF VGC had properly laid down the 411 on what a mod can/can't, should/shouldn't do, then there would be no confusion by anyone on any removal of moderating rights for an action taken by the aforementioned mod.
Guidelines are one thing, which any idiot can write and make people read, but that's not an internalization of information, it's a passive learning methodology which, frankly, in this day and age of integrated training, is rather outdated. This is in addition to the fact that guidelines are extremely broad sets of rules; ones which, anyone with enough know-how, can use to justify ANY action, negative or otherwise, they take, using technicalities and such.
Anyways, I don't want to make a moot point of this, but I do believe that there are unsettling vibes going around concerning this issue, and I just wanted to propose a resolution to this dilemma.
