I just installed a new mod that requires all users to have 10 posts before posting links or images. This should cut out almost all of the spam. I also turned the captcha on registration off since most bots can bypass it anyway.

I agree. I am a forum admin, and spammers really can be insane. I don't know where they come from or why they mass register on forums and post trash, but for some reason it just happens.

Actually, the forum I run hasn't gotten spam in 4 months, although we have 20 users. I guess small is better sometimes.
