No more signatures?

Just wanted to see what you guys think of this. Should we completely get rid of forum signatures, strictly limit them, or keep them as they are now?

In my opinion, the signatures just get in the way when really all I want to do is read and make posts. It also looks a lot cleaner and there is a lot less clutter. Plus avatars can still be used.

What do you guys think?

are you saying that signatures hinder new users coming on board??? I don't see anything wrong with them right now,but maybe limited the size of them? I personally like them,something else too fool around with,.........as VGcore being extremely slow for awhile now!!

Nah, I don't think it really keeps people from registering. But I think they can be annoying and a waste of space when people just want to read what people are posting in a thread instead of having to scroll a huge amount.

For instance, both our our signature are bigger than what are actual post is. If we cut those off the pages would be like half the size and people wouldn't have to scroll through all the extra verticle space.

I say limit them. They're definitely overwhelming in some people's case, but I don't want to get rid of them altogether. If we get rid of them, we also get rid of some individuality as well.

Oh, don't worry, Roger.....having a big honking picture of yourself as your avatar still provides you plenty of individuality.

I say keep 'em, but limit their size (both physically and file size).
