PSP worth the money?

Is the PSP worth the money? I am thinking about getting one, but whenever I buy a new gameboy, I rarely use it because I know I could be playing better games on a console. What do you guys think? Is the new PSP worth it?

Well, since you're an administrator here, everything's worth getting.

I'm a DS player, personally, but I'm not prejudiced either way. I think you should go for it, if you're a true-to-the-heart gamer.

Of course it is worth it you can do almost about everything on the go with you.

Yeah the PSP is a really great handheld device , but the only flaw is the cost of the momory sticks

I bought a PSP, thinking OMG OMG, and then I played it and was like OMG OMG, but now after about 3 months of having it....I havn't played it for about 2...Right now there is no need to buy the PSP, I don't think there are many good games out right now. Just wait for GTA, but then again it all depends on what games you like.

And the whole multimedia device is good, but I have an MP3 player and use that for music over my PSP because of the PSPs size, the photo thing is pointless for me because I don't feel the need to look at pictures all the time. And the video would be good for car rides, hey I use mine for vids I have Van Wilder on it.

I think if you would buy it only to play games, wait for better ones to come out, because right now the games arn't astounding, but for multimedia and games go for it.

I think the one flaw with it is the battery life. Other than that, it's an outstanding handheld with great multimedia capabilities. If I were you, I'd wait for the first price drop.

Yeah, Battosai and Pached make good arguments. Maybe you should hang on till what you see convinces you to go get it.

here are my flaws for the psp

#1 when it came out they were like omg look how many launch titles...most of them werent even that good and when I saw when titles would be coming out after that they were few and far between...games im looking forward to are coded arms, death jr., and daxter and those games wont make me buy the system so until they have a flow of a lot of good games this is my #1 problem with it

#2 battery life...im a huge portable gamer...especially this time of the year when id rather be playing games on the go and outside...and i play for long periods of time and take my sp/DS on road trips and such...the psp battery life doesnt cut it for me. I know you might be saying well how plays a game for 3 to 5 hours straight..well i dont usually but it adds up...and u might not get to a charger all day and before you know it it's dead because u left it on or forgot u were listening to music...and going with that id have to say watching a movie takes a lot of battery out of it and i have to say it's not worth it

#3 too expensive for my tastes...im sry games 50 bucks? system 250? a decent memory card over 100 bucks? by the time u get the system...some games, memory and other appliances ull be spending 1000 bucks before you know it..id rather not spend so much

...sry for my rant ther....

For #2, I played some GBA games for like 5 hours. And yeah, most of the time I play like maybe an hour or two, but MANY times in one day. *Save* *Go do something else* *Play* *Go do something else* etc...

And just KNOWING that you have tons of battery to go makes you enjoy games a lot more. I never have to look at the DS' lights to see if it's dying... it just never occurs to me that it CAN die out!!!!
