Default 2.0 Update

Time to buy another PSP, then. From the 27th, PSP owners will be able to upgrade to system version 2.0, with the following features: web browser added (although without Flash support), expanded video playback functions, such as A-B repeat, and 4:3 mode.

Music fans will be able to play AAC and WAV files natively, and on the visual side, wallpapers will be able to be added, plus the ability to show TIFF, GIF, PNG and BMP formats. There's also an absolutely gorgeous white version of the PSP, so you can get that one for 2.0 and keep the black one for homebrew...

Web browser seems pretty neat... but how do you connect... it is wireless right? If so how far away can you be and what kind of hardware do you need?

Wireless communications:

IEEE802.11b
Infrastructure mode
Ad hoc mode (connection up to 16 consoles)

Which means, it connects the PSP system to the Internet through a wireless-LAN from access points (typical for home networks) or Hotspots (typically for public/commercial use). However, wireless Hotspots that require you to login via a webpage for access will not be currently accessible to PSP system users.

Edit: wanted to make sure you knew that I'm not that informed--I got that from an FAQ at Playstation.com
