Sony take out UK PSP retailer Nuplayer Sony take out UK PSP retailer Nuplayer
Sony has today won it's claim in the High Court against UK based retailer Nuplayer Ltd. The company had been selling imported PSPs in the UK before September the 1st, the official PSP release date over here. Sony alleged this was an infringement of their copyright - to which Mr Justice Lawrence Collins ruled Nuplayer had no argueable defence to. As a result, Nuplayer have been ordered to pay considerable Costs and Damages to Sony, as well as hand over their stock, sales details and all profits from their PSP sales. Nuplayer.co.uk has been taken down, with the message "Sorry site down for maintenance, please check back later - the Nuplayer team."
We wish them the best of luck in dealing with this result and hope to see their site back in business soon.
