Gran Tourismo HD Available Christmas Eve

Woot! Can't wait to play this. Sony announced not to long ago that they were going to release it for free in their store and they just announced that they are going to release it on Christmas Eve. Whoop!

Free? Ummmm.....correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the one where you just get the basic game and you have to actually seperately buy all the content (like cars and tracks)?

Maybe it's just me, but I find it kinda hard to actually get excited about something like a hi-res Gran Turismo 4 port that will end up costing multiple times what a full retail copy would.

I am almost certain that other tracks are cars won't be available for download and this is just a one time tech demo. For whatever reason they decided to dump this build of the game (and just release it for free) and work on a new game. I think they said at E3 that this tech demo is GT4, but rebuilt for the PS3 to show what the GT5 will be like.

Ah, ok. Looks like Sony finally wised up (for one brief moment) and scrapped their plans for the whole "pay bit by bit" concept they thought people would actually buy into, instead using this as a sort of "GT5 demo" instead.

Yeah, that was an idea that had me really bent...

...not that EA isn't trying it.
