Default Resident Evil 4 Review

Genre: Action
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Capcom
Players: 1 player

When capcom showed that RE4 would be a different bird then the other RE's that came out a lot of people worried about the change (no zombies or Umbrella) thinking it may not be as good anymore. Sometimes however change can be a good thing that proves none believers wrong. (Metriod Prime)

Leon is now working in for the President and his mission is to search and rescue the Presidents daughter named Ashley. All goes well, but as Leon goes further realizes realizes things are not what they seem and this mission will not be a walk in the park. The villagers are violent and full of rage. Something is wrong and it is up to you to find out who is behide this and why they are acting the way that they are.

Going in to the game you can feel different this game is. The games setting Erie and sets a nerve to those that are walking around. The first time you meet up with the people you will be fighting thru out the game is when the action picks up in the game as well as the fear that takes place. It becomes fast paced with everyone coming at you from everywhere and your only point is just to survive and complete your mission which leaves a fear of what to do next..Who are these people, are these people responsible responsible taking the presidents daughter? If so why? This is what what capcom pulls off with flying colors. It never lets go of the fast paced action and fear and becomes a constant enjoyment thru the entire game.

The games Action button feature is a nice touch and depth in the game. It can be used in the most tense parts of the game. Jumping out of windows to make a quick escape, Kicking a person near by, and dodging things in a cut sense. Which is a very nice touch and makes the cut scenes scenes fun and enjoyable which means the game can get really intense in parts where you are overwhelmed and having to be in fear of a person with a axe or chainsaw. The gameplay gets this way when you have the Presidents daughter with you. There will be times where she will be picked up and you have to rush and save her, but can be a problem when you have to deal with other things in front of you. The good thing is that Ashley isn't braindead they give her the sense to duck, follow, stay, and hide. This solving the problem of you "accidently shooting" her.

The games story is one that will keep you guessing and will continue to give you more ?'s then answers untill near the end. The game has it's twist too. Like who's that person? What's he/she doing here? People fthat are familair with the story line will love the story in this game as well as the twist this game brings.

The graphics show off what the Gamecube is all about. Everything is in full detail. The characters, the blood, environments the enviroments that you environments around in does everything impressive that any gamer will swoon over. Everything looks as real as if can be in this game and perfectly adds more fear to this game.

The games ability to collect money and buy upgrades for your weapons, new weapons, and more room for your items from the merchants that are in the game. It adds to the games reply value in the fact would you whould want to would your weapon the strongest and get everything you possibly can get.

There is music in this game but there isn't that much of it to say wow, but the music it does Erie is errie heavy tones a little adds alittle more to a little fear of the game, but it isn't nothing to be breathtaken by. The voice acting however is much better then the older versions. Everything is beliveable and makes the story more enjoyable to get into.

Overall this is a game that fans of the RE series and even people that haven't liked RE before whould enjoy. It is so different from the re series that it feels like a new game on it's own. For people that like action games they will not be disapointed. When you beat the game a couple mini games are unlocked as well as new suits for the characters. This game is very replayable even after you beat it a few times. For a action game it is sad that a quick dodge move whould of been nice to have in this game, but this is a small gripe.

Score: 9.8

The Gamecube isn't skimpy on the power like most people think. It's actually more powerful than the PS2.

That could be a possibility, but we'll see. We don't want to be too quick to judge it if we haven't played it yet. Atleast it'll give more people a chance to experience the game on an additional platform.

I have RE4.Game play is magnificent.I wouldnt be able to make it any better, well probably one or two things, but for now its excellent.Graphics are amazing, and ive been saying for the past few years that gamecubes graphics own ps2.But people seem to not realize that.Well anyways, I give it a 10/10 myself.I love the game, and I could careless if its like 8 - 10 years after the Umbrella incident, and Wesker was still alive.I had fun fighting him.Its not like the story line went completely out of control, I actually enjoyed this story line. The game couldve used more puzzles though. But hell, I loved watching Leon get his head cut off by the chainsaw guy.
