Top Gun for DS

Mastiff announced today that it will publish Paramount Pictures' Top Gun for the Nintendo DS. Based on the two decade-old movie of the same title, Top Gun will apparently "take advantage of the unique Nintendo DS interface for high octane mastery of the sky." The game will feature 10 single player missions and wireless play for up to 4 players.

"Top Gun's intense action translates perfectly into a videogame," said Bill Swartz, Head Woof at Mastiff. "Top Gun exploits the capabilities of the Nintendo DS to duplicate that experience in a handheld environment."

Top Gun does not yet have an official release date.

But...why? Top Gun is dead man, dead. Believe me people, the Navy is NOT that cool. I promise, I did it for 5 years.

As for the gameplay, I'm willing to bet that the bottom touch screen will be your ****pit controls and/or flight stick. They could potentially do some good things with this game, assuming it's going to be 3-D or first....uhh...pilot point of view. Overhead flight just plain blows (checkout Namco's GBA title, Ace Combat Advance)
