Instant Messenger for DS / PSP

Meetro have announced their plans to bring an instant messenger application to both PSP and DS. Created by Paul Bragiel and Wendell Davis III (uh huh) Meetro is the new dynamic way to meet people local to you - we prefer actual conversation, but if you're shy, or really ugly, read on.

Meetro makes finding people within walking distance a breeze -- perhaps even a summer breeze (ace) and apparently will support AIM and ICQ with future plans for MSN, Yahoo and Jabber, who I thought was the big fat slug from Star Wars.

Sounds promising!

Well, another article says:

"Meetro has been annosued for the DS and PSP. (PC version here) Some features are:

* Instant Messenger program telling how far users are away from each other in miles.
* Includes taglines, user pictures and an extensive customizable user profile.
* The program has AIM, ICQ support. Yahoo support will come out later this month and MSN will be around the corner. Jabber support coming later.

This will be out on the PSP and DS Summer 06'."

If you take note of the underlined part, you'll note that it says how far the users are in MILES... that's pretty much a dead giveaway that it's Wi-Fi... and since it's slated for Summer 2006, it's pretty much in the Wi-Fi enabled era of software.

ooo guess what. Today at school we had kinda kick off of the season football party cause we had our first district games today (which we won!) so all the nerdy kids got all the good tables since like 200 kids were gone. And when i was at the soda machine i totally saw some kids playing DS's at a table. SSSSWWWEEEEETTT!!!!!
