What Wii games did you get and how do you like them?

So what Wii games did everyone pick up and how do you like them?

We got Zelda, Tony Hawk Downhill Jam, Red Steel and Monkey Ball. I've only played Red steel and Monkey Ball so far but I must say Red Steel is awesome. Monkey Ball is kind of a disappointment for me so far, but I haven't gotten that far into the game yet. It definitely gets really hard really fast in story mode though. The mini games suck so far, the control on them is pretty bad, though I haven't tried them all yet.

Red Steel is great, though it sucks that you can't skip the cut scenes, so every time you die you have to sit through the entire scene again. I've had the controller flip out on me once and start making the screen go all over the place, but pausing the game and un-pausing it seemed to fix it. I'm really digging the whole point and shoot thing; it feels a lot more like playing on a PC than a console, which I totally prefer for shooters. The sword fights are pretty fun too, though short, it's still a pretty neat twist though. Definitely a fun game so far.

So what did everyone else get?

Zelda impressions: played on an HDTV through component cables = great.

Not enough? How about "every moment you don't have a Wii, you have to play some game OTHER than Zelda: TP.....and, as a gamer, I feel really bad you for that." Seriously. It's THAT awesome.

But hey, what's the problem here? I called your bro on Saturday and talked in his ear that he should get a Wii system. When I got off the phone with him, he seemed on his way down the right path. What did he do....stop home before going to lne up to get a Wii and ran into the Accounting Department (aka significant other)?

The problem was that the game store had no Wiis and the accounting department caught wind of my intent of indiscretion. And I have bad news: the accounting department MAY know where the source of my wayward ideals came from...

Ok I just finished the second temple yesterday and so far, this is turning out to be one of the best games I've ever played. Danzego basically summed up the entire experience.. if you don't have it, get it ASAP.

The game starts out a little slow, but once you get up to and beyond the first temple, it gets hard to put down

I don't think it started out too slow. I mean, it does start out slow, but it sure didn't feel like it to me. I was several hours into the game, just getting to the Forest Temple, and thought, "whoa....I'm only at the first dungeon in the game!!"

Way too sweet. I'm not too far into the game in terms of completion, but it's already apparent this game is easily game of the year material here. Only other game this year I can think of that stands up there with this game is Okami. There were some great handheld games, too, but nothing on any other system that even comes close (yes, even Gears of Lemme hide behind this wall and shoot at enemies for the 856,000th time).

The Wii controller works very well in the game, too. It's not as obviously different as, say, ExciteTruck or something like that, but kind of like "Controller Plus", if you will.

now thats my kind of game! ... anyway I have always been a Zelda fan,so I guess I'm just going to have to get over the hole wii remote thing and get a damn wii!!
either that or buy a cube just to play one game

Well the 'cube can be found for pretty cheap nowadays, so you might as well!
