Re: What Wii games did you get and how do you like them? The way I personally see it is that's what having another system is for. If I don't feel like playing a remote type game, I'll go play a different system. Otherwise (and I know I said something to this effect recently in another thread), when you open it up to where developers don't have to necessarily use the new control scheme, that's when you start seeing crap where the remote functions are tacked on (like in the Wii port of Marvel Ultimate Alliance) and THAT'S when I would get tired of using it- when it's just a lame, gimmicky use of what makes the system different.
For me, the DS served as a great primer for the Wii, where having these different ways of playing games and, in many cases, games that wouldn't even be possible with a standard control pad, has just made gaming that much more fun again. I still dig the standard control pad stuff, but the new ways the DS and Wii offer really make a nice spin on the regular ol' way of doing things that I've been playing for over 20 years already. For this, it's about variety, and in today's age of just more and more games doing the same old crap (even more than a few years ago, where it felt like it couldn't get any worse, yet HAS), anything to mix it up- especially something as cool as the DS and Wii- are more than welcome.
Whatever the case, either way- Wii or Gamecube- get Zelda. It's a fantastic game that shouldn't be missed. |
