Re: pached's guide for getting 480p on a computer monitor with a Wii Well, I got those component cables today FINALLY. For whatever reason, they got to Portland, Oregon on the 19th- so conceivably they could have gotten here by launch, had they forwarded it from where they lost it and marked it Saturday delivery, like I told them over the phone they should have done for their screw up- but instead ended up all the way in Kentucky a mere 9 hours later, then back in Portland only and hour and a half after that ( ) and I got them this morning.
Whatever the case, now that that nightmare is over (and Nintendo refunded part of my shipping.....whoop dee doo *twirls finger*) and I have the component cables hooked up, I've gotta say, the Wii looks SOOOO much better. I seriously thought that Zelda looked like poop with the regular composite cables on an HDTV (same story with Red Steel). Now, the game actually looks like the screen shots we've been seeing for the last couple years.
Lesson: if you have an HDTV, don't use it to play Wii games unless you have the component cables. The difference between Zelda from when I was playing it in composite and the moment I turned it on with component slapped me right upside the head with just how much better it looked.
Oh....and the Wii is freakin' awesome. |
