Default Is DS your most played system?

Recent sales reports came in from Japan and DS games make up the top ten sales. Does that translate to you guys?

As for me, I've been too stoked on the new 360 at the house and have been buying and playing games it exclusively. So I haven't really noticed what the DS is offering, nor have I really cared. So it came as a surprised to hear that DS games (in Japan, though) are outselling everything.

What about you peeps? The DS holding your attention?

Oh, of course. I have mine sitting on the sink right next to the can.

Though, as of late, I haven't been playing it QUITE as much as I normally do. I need some new games for the thing. That won't be a problem though as the bubble is about to absolutely BURST in regards to DS software releases. Starfox Command just came out, in a couple of weeks it's Mario Hoops, and then starting at the end of the month, they're just going to come rolling out like nobody's business (with three of those being some sweet looking RPG's in the way of Contact, Magical Starsign, and FFIII).

The DS is going to be tearing it up pretty soon here, yo....or something.

What's funny is that I sold my DS a couple of weeks ago (on eBay for $100! screw Gamestop and EbGames) to get some money for a DS Lite with a G6 Lite (to load some DS roms since there's a lot of import games I want to play). I haven't played games on anything other than my computer for a while anyway (WoW addiction >.<). As soon as the G6 Lite English version comes out, I'll be picking that up with a nice shiny DS Lite *drool

On a sidenote, I played my friend's PSP for a while during the past week and I never actually realized how fun it was until then. The smudging issues with your fingers are ridiculous though.

Ditto with Crusader's post...for the same obvious reasons!

Just to add, I've been playing my 360 the most lately. If anyone might recall, I was throwing around the notion of selling it and actually found a buyer. The guy wanted Kameo, Oblivion (Collector's Edition) and the system for $400 plus shipping.

However, over the course of the last week or so, playing certain demos a whole lot and renting Enchanted Arms......I've decided to keep it (I just have to let the guy know as he's still getting the money together).

This isn't TOO off topic since Roger talked about his 360, so bear with me.

The biggest factors in me deciding to keep it are:

1) once the Mistwalker stuff comes out, I know I'm going to be chomping at the bit for another 360.

2) Sony have been making complete asses out of themselves going into this next generation thus far (talk about a bunch of arrogant, classless jerks). At least ACT like you can appreciate your consumers!!

3) there are too many variables as far as the PS3 is concerned, namely, how much are games going to cost, what with being on Bluray media and all, not to mention we all know how Sony systems fare in their first year. Many of the parts have such low yields right now (I'm talking in the area of 30%), who the heck wants to spend 500-600 bucks on THAT?!?! 30% is like LUCK, for crying out loud.

4) By the time the good exclusive stuff comes out on PS3, there will be several 360 titles I'll have wanted to play and missed. The multiplatform stuff, I can get either way and it will be just as good on the 360, which leads me into the final straw that broke the camel's back (just as I was ready to pack the 360 up, essentially)

5) Assassin's Creed got announced as multiplatform. That wasn't a huge reason that I wanted a PS3 (it's the Japan only titles that 360 won't get), but it WAS one of the only games I was looking forward to in the PS3's first year. With that going to 360, I can still get it AND get that other exclusive stuff on the 360. I'll just save up for the PS3 and get it by the time ITS worthwhile exclusives start releasing. A win win situation.

So to "celebrate", I hopped over to Best Buy and picked up Enchanted Arms (now I can play it at my leisure instead of blowing through it in the rental period), and also got a good deal on Tomb Raider ($25; awesome game that I rented before and beat, btw) and Ridge Racer 6 ($15) for the 360. I should be good to go for awhile.

I've been going back and playing some of our old PS1 and Gamecube games lately trying to get some of the backlog taken care of. I finished Rhapsody for the PS1 a couple weeks ago and am just about done with Luigi's Mansion now, which btw, is an awesome game!

I love my DS though and can't wait for some of the cool titles that are coming out for it, namely FF3 and Children of Mana. I can totally see how it's been kicking butt in Japan. I mean really, there's not a whole lot of the PS2 and right now and there's like no one in Japan that even cares about the 360. Then there's the Gamecube which is pretty much dry (except for Baten Kaitos 2, but I think that's already come out over there). So yeah, it's not really all that suprising that the DS is doing so well.

Yeah, sorry about my little "life story" up there. Just 'splainin what was up wit' dat is all.

As for DS games coming out through the rest of the year (since the DS is what the topic is about), some that are worth looking forward to- or in the case of a couple, at leats in to- are Starfox Command (which actually just released last week), Mario Hoops, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, Mario vs Donkey Kong 2, Magical Starsign, Contact, Children of Mana, Final Fantasy III, and Yoshi's Island 2.

That's not a completely exhaustive list, but that's just the ones that I've been eyeing.

Good to hear you're keeping the 360, Dan. I already knew you would.

I'm looking forward to grabbing up Starfox Command, and really looking forward to Phantom Hourglass, whenever that's coming.

And I must apologize about my misleading post to start this off. I actually have been playing my DS, but nothing new. I'm yet again addicted to Advance Wars. I've been playing a War Room level every night. I'd love another Advance Wars. As a matter of fact, if the blended Advance Wars with Batallion Wars, life would be good. I love strategy, but to be able to mix it up with some action between would be so sweet.

Oh man...you mean like having an overworld grid map where you could move your units around, but for the battles, actually zoom into the battlefield and play it out in real time?

That would be soooo sweet!!! Nintendo- make it so!!!!

btw, what do YOU mean you knew I would keep it? I was mulling over that decision for over a week (and I mean like hardcore mulling, if there is such a thing and if there's NOT, well I surely invented it during that time).

If that dude had come up with the money sooner (he was selling his PSP and some other stuff online to raise the rest of the cash, so I had to wait on that), especially before Enchanted Arms came out and I rented it, it would have been out the door. Having to wait just gave me more time to think about it, mess around with it, consider all of those points I brought up....plus several more I didn't take the time to go into more thoroughly, if at all....and so on and so forth.

Not to say I'm not glad that I kept it, because I most definitely am. Once the Mistwalker stuff makes it out, whenever that may be, I'll be patting myself on the back.

He's saying that because we trying to help you see the light and keep your 360! It's because we are so undeniably convincing that you are keeping your 360...not for mistwalker or the rest. See, the man upstair was delaying dudes money and he used us as divine intervention to help you see the light...the light of M$!!!

LOL, yeah, not really...but it sounded good! Still, you'll probably remain happy with your decision, for exactly the reasons you mentioned -- no looking back now!
