How do I transfer my gamer tag?

My old Xbox got broken while I was moving house, (TIP:don't ask family to help you move, they drop boxes.) and that had all my Live data on it.

I have a new Xbox now and will be getting Broadband set-up in the new house in a couple of weeks, but I want to keep my Gamer tag.

So is there a way I can do this? I'm begging to know!!!!!!

There is an 'account recovery' option in the xbox dashboard, it asks for all the information you inputed when you registered the account (credit card, address, etc) if entered correctly, it connects to xbox live, checks the data and will reinstall your gamertag to that box

next time always have you 'Tag on a memory card so you dont have to go thru the account recovery ;-) just a tip
