Default Spacesounds *These cant be real*

http://www.spacesounds.com/home/

Black hole sounds like a bunch of wind and a guy constantly putting something infront of the mic to block off some noise.

And how would they even record these sounds in space?
everything is like a 100 billion miles away. And, no air in space = no sound. Well, that's what I've been told since 3rd grade..

But if these are indeed real, then wow this ****s cool

Yeah they are definatly fake, mainly because they also have a section on dinosaur sounds...

I too was under the impression that you could not here sound in space but I did little searching and found this, http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/...en_sounds.html.

I think they must be referring to things like explosions and other stuff not making sounds in space, frequencies must be different.

having directed and designed spacesounds.com, i can assure you that the sounds are indeed real. most of the sounds were supplied by from nasa, jpl, stanford, princeton and seti@home. we added just a little processing to for eq and to widen the stereo field.

dinosursounds, of course, are simulations. the whalesounds are real, and stormsounds are all sound designs!

I believe that sounds never "die" out (completely). That the echoing warcries of the Manicheans are still bouncing around our universe...

...now all we need are the hypersensitive instruments to receive, distinguish, and amplify these sounds. Imagine hearing your great-grandfather passing gas.

I live for antiquity.

Though I must call "BS" as well. If it takes light countless years to get to us, such that the source of light itself may not even exist, though we perceive its light, imagine how slow SOUND is for it to reach us. Even if NASA can detect a blackhole "x" lightyears away, it'd take many many many years for us to perceive or be able to record the sound.
