There's a lot more Jrpg's out that aren't turn-based, the Tales series is one of them. I don't know what you mean by them looking childish though, ALL the games looked like FF3 back in the day and at the time it wasn't considered childish. You'll have endless battles in any RPG you play though, wether it's a turn-based JRPG or an action based American game. RPG's usually focus on battle and story, so of course there will be endless battles, silly. Maybe RPG's just aren't your thing regardless of wether they're American or Japanese.

I think it's best for dillweed to just move on and find another game where you just lay on the trigger and watch **** blow up or something like that. It's not like there's any shortage of those types of games, anyway, and I'm sure that will keep him happy, especially if he just turns tail and runs at the mere sight of anything he humorously refers to as "advanced tactics".
As for me being a smartass, what do you expect, dill? You come in here and post a topic with the sole purpose (I use the term loosely) being to bash a game and a genre. I mean, really, what did you expect? You post saying you played a game in a genre you hate and then say you didn't like it, despite having fun with it (further fueling debate with your ensuing blatantly statements). Then, you ironically refer to it as childish? Did you just start playing games with the Playstation or something? I swear, sometimes I feel like 90% of the members of these boards must have and debate why I even bother posting around these parts anymore...not that I would be missed, but that's par for the course.
I couldn't have made a worse post than this topic had I dropped trow and squatted over my keyboard after eating spoiled Mexican food. Seriously.

I couldn't have made a worse post than this topic had I dropped trow and squatted over my keyboard after eating spoiled Mexican food. Seriously. | First off I don't like the genre, second I started playing the game because I was bored, then I was actually was having fun! so when I got deeper into the game and realized why I don't like these games,I turned it off... And thats it ,nothing more. so I guess you read to much into it!
your the only one posting smug comments !! You seem to be the only one with a problem! you take things to serious and jump to insult people! so ya be free to stop posting! or if you wish you can continue with this worthless conversation that you started, because you did not like my post. meanwhile I'll have a productive chat with the other members! Being a staff member you should show some restraint and professionalism! As for my posts, well I make no excuses,so if you don't like what I post, don't reply.

As it is, all I see if you saying "I don't like a genre, I was having fun with it, but now I hate it again" and a few comments on it (plus my own comments, due to having low tolerance for useless posts such as this).
Though if that's all your point is and you actually think you HAVE a reasonable point at all, I guess I can see why you thought it would be a good idea to post this in the first place. ~.0

He only says what he does because he likes to have fun and doesn't expect people to get butt sore about it...because, frankly, you shouldn't.

maybe I'll sink to you level, and make this conversation personal. Anyway I'm having fun now. So if you must.,bring it on. Asshat! | Like I said, you made a thread stating you don't like a genre, you played a game in it, were enjoying it, but then hated it once the genre staples kicked in. So if I made a thread specifically to point out that I don't like RTS games, played one and liked it, but then decided I would never play one again...followed by a couple people saying "you should go back and still give it a try", that's productive?!?!?
I don't know about you, but I tend to use words in the manner they were intended, and this thread is anything BUT productive from the get go.
As for "sinking to my level", calling someone an "asshat" is about the stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone say (not coincidentally it's quite popular on internet messageboards). You just walked into the territory of another person on these boards who I'm not that fond of. Good job.
Nothing I've said has been to "make this thread personal", as calling someone "cool guy" and you calling me "weird guy" is hardly a big deal. Sorry, but I haven't and will NOT resort to childish name calling as you have. I may talk about copping a squat on keyboards, but that still leaves me with a whole lot more integrity than you're now showing.
If you'll bring it up a few notches though, I'll still argue with you if you'd like.
