It's being hyped like the next "Halo", however a lot of hands-on previews from other publications don't seem to give the edge to GOW's gameplay. I think Gears of War looks more interesting than Resistance: FOM, but Resistance plays on some new gameplay ideas that could rebound its bright and dullish look. Stranglehold, though, actually seems like a really cool game just because of the actual gameplay features that it focuses on. But I doubt people are going to buy into it the way they will with GOW and Zelda.

This is a tough one. Gears of War is seeing a lot of hype, but I wasn't overly impressed with the gameplay mechanics. I'm not really into the hide-n-gun type of gameply as much as a straight-up shooter like Stranglehold (with spooky gameplay and story altercations).
Now Twilight Princess is either going to be the next Ocarina of Time or the The Adventures of Link. Though I loved Adventures of Link, it still didn't have the fan-base that the original or OoT did, while others think it plain sucked (right, Danny?...was that you that didn't like it?).

Posts: 40 | Re: GoW, Resistance, or Zelda? best game?....well In my opinion Zelda....but it may not be the most successful of the three.
Im not that blow away by Resistance but it seems to be the best game of the line up and people who can get their hands on a ps3....are prolly going to be getting it almost purely based on the fact its THE launch title that doesnt really dissapoint
As for GOW....I dont know, personally I dont like it quite to much...but thats a matter of my personal preferance, this starts a good chance of success as has had good reviews..
Zelda I think may be the most successful if your count the gamecube version...as even if the wii doesnt take off the game itself is probably going to sell alot on both platforms.
but at the end ofthe day ALLLLL personal preferance

Now, avid and long-time gamers will probably choose Zelda. I haven't played it yet, but every little thing I can find about the game, I read. I have heard nothing but good things. Well, the bad stuff is very very minor and in no way takes away from the game. (I'm sure people who have it and play(ed) it, can concur...Elf?Dan?Pached?)
Resistance has seen a lot of press because it's the only real killer app for the PS3. All of the other launch titles have fallen short, so Sony fans have to have something to praise. That may seem cynical, but it may be true. I can't say that it isn't a great game, but I don't think it's as stellar as other titles out there.

Oh, and for anyone's info, the whole thing where you aim the slingshot, bow, boomerang, etc, where you point at the screen and shoot, CAN be turned off if you care to so. The only thing that can't be changed is the swinging of the sword. To me, that's no big deal and, as a matter of fact, the circle slash is ten times better over the standard controller scheme; you don't have to charge up the hit, making it essentially useless. You just shake the nunchuck...or twirl it in a circle real quick like I do, and he does the circle slash. Awesome.
Oh, and the lure fishing, where you cast your rod with with Wii remote and actually have to pull back on it and spin the nunchuck like you're reeling in a fish. Now who the heck wouldn't want to do that!?!?! It's called "fun"....you know, that thing that we try to have with games?
