Default Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The beginning

I'm gonna check this one out this weekend and was just wondering if anyone else was. I thought they did a good job with the first remake so i'm gonna give this one a shot.

Anyone else??

Being a hardcore, and classic horror fan,I have to say the first one(remake) was ..........total crap!! I don't have high hopes for this new one!!

Why I did not like the remake. Well the first reason is because they tried to make look all old with the classic news reel thing, with was way too over done! Witch intern made it look too new, not old. Second, the actors sucked, except the sheriff! Third...no Tobe Hooper,no Gunnar Hansen....no thanks! Yes these guys are old now,but not that old!!

Anymore you have too look at all remakes as a revision of a classic. If you try and compare the new ones to the classics they are going to (in most cases) fall short everytime so go in said "remake" with an open mind like you havent heard about before.

I liked the TCM "remake" for certain aspect's. The story was done well and the violence was pretty good. Me being the gorehound I am it must be bloody. Which is why I liked Hostel but thats another discussion.

The remake of TCM wasn't very Texas like to me. It was a good rent though. I saw it on the telly a few weeks ago and I thought the house scene was gonna be a carbon copy of the original.

Personally, the last couple of years, "horror" movies has been played out. I mean, for a while, they were everywhere you turned. Directors were even goin out of their genre to make a horror movie. I hope this doesnt end up total crap. If someone happens to watch it, let us know how it goes. Then maybe, just MAYBE, I will consider thinking about trying to probably attempt to possibly renting a burnt, edited copy from a corner store that happens to sell Airforce 1s... probably.

Heh,

...This prequel (remake?) doesn't seem too bad. I just don't like ankle-grabbing scenes (horror fans know what I'm talking about) or boyfriends who always get axed in the back. Horror movies rarely ever seem that appealing because the slashers aren't always that dangerous.

Seriously, they always stab people from behind, jump out from dark places, lure people into basements, or get them to kill each other. Hence, they always avoid confrontations with kick-butt guys like Don "The Dragon" Wilson.
