Anyone else listen to power metal?

I love this stuff, it is so jolly and fast paced. I like the way Wikipedia describes it the most "epic". I am sure a lot of you have heard dragonforce, they are a new British band who have become quite popular very fast, they are also very talented, I cannot even air guitar that fast. I also like the older stuff such as Rhapsody, a really fantastic band who play power metal with a full orchestra. I also like Helloween and early inspirational bands for power metal such as Iron Maiden.

So are there any other power metal fans out there? Because if not I am going to convert you.

Not bad. I dig the music, but the singing doesn't match...at least for this track. They sound very "dated", however. The song sounds like something from 1984.

I'm into classic metal: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Dio, Metallica, Juda Priest, etc.

im a true metalhead and did anyone else catch the NEMF (New England Metal Fest) I flew down it was kick ass!
I could go on and on if you want power metal go to www.metalinjection.net and get the podcasts for the entropy league that is where I become a fan of more and more metal

I agree with you on that, I preffered the singing on the first two albums to this third album, I would not say they had sold out though as their most recent album is the least mainstream in terms of style.

In general power metal singers are quite good I am quite a big fan of Joacim Cans if not for his singing then at least his dramatic hand gestures. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3ah7U4juz8 Thats a video of hammerfall singing blood bound, it is a pretty awesome video.

I am not actually sure how much power metal reaches America, I know dragonforce have released there but it is generally only popular in Europe, Scnadanavia and a few other countries.

I'm listening to their song on the website, good stuff. Not sure what Genre it is though, the music actually sounds like powermetal but occasionally they seem to use death metal singers. I like it, thanks.
