Default the music you grew up on?

As you grew up what music did you guys listen to? Most of vgcore members are alot younger then me,but I am curious of how your music interests have change over your lifetime? As far as I can remember here are mine.

When I was really young I liked Madonna,Bob Marley,Lone Star(7or 8 years old)
Then later on got into old style rap like The funky bunch, rundmc, others. Then about the end of my six grade year I started to get into Metal GnR,slayer, skid row,
Bullet boys, pretty much anything metal.
I listen to metal up to the eigth grade, then I listen to the misfits and slowly became I full blown punk rocker. By high School I was really into the Uk stuff, exploited,One Way system, knobbers, etc. I also liked FEAR,Acids, addicts,
crumb suckers,Filth,Back Flag,Chaos UK,Operation Ivy,Dead Kennedys,conflict, and
many others I can't think of right now. Then about 3 or 4 years after high School are got into Death Metal. Which what I listen To right now. Bands like-Dying fetus,Misery Index,Skinnless Which are more punk then than Strait Death
metal. Like SFU,Deicide,Cannibal corpse,Which I like too. I also like Black Sabbath,AC DC,Metalica, old School Rock N Roll.

The list too great but I see alot of stuff in your list that I can referr too. I was and still am a metal lover but since that genre isnt what it used to be I have taken up quite few others.

Same as you guys, as we seem to be around the same age. I also still listen to these types, specifically:

Led Zepplin
AC/DC
Black Sabbath
Pink Floyd
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Beastie Boys
Blue Oyster Cult

As a young child (pre-10) I had interests in Nirvana, RHCP, STP, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys (don't ask). I was 10 when I got my first classical CD called "Famous Overtures" which was full of classical overtures (like Wagner's "Tannhauser", Beethoven's "Ruins of Athens", etc...) and that launched me into classical music, leaving behind such fads as Soul Asylum, Soundgarden, and some others. So from then on, classical music became the influential motive force in my life. That is up until I turned 15 when I liberated myself from listening to only one genre.

Needless to say, classical music (particularly baroque) still serves as the only music that can ever drive me to tears.

Good for you Emp! Although I congratulate you, I have never experienced, nor do I want to, such thorough exaltation of classical music. I have respect for you, because, well, it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy it and it should be enjoyed. I myself am really unable to appreciate it like one should. I like it, I would listen to it and not complain, but I just am not intimate with classical. I just love Rock, man. I grew up on the same stuff as Crusader (obviously) and still have the same exact interests in the genre, as well as the newer stuff of course.
