Whoa...Slow down there cowboy. Lets do a little math here:
If most games these days are taking up four and five normal disc, and nearly spilling out over the standard DVD, then a terrabtye, petabyte, etc., aren't all that fantastic when you think about how many games a terrabyte can actually hold.
The Sims 2, and anything made by Black Isle recently is nothing short of 2.5 gig.
Other action titles like Mafia or Rainbowsix 3 are also in the 1.5 through 3 gigabyte range, so having just those four games alone will fill up nothing small of ten or twelve gigabyte. Not including music, movies, workstation projects, etc.
I just got a 30 gig and it's already down to 15 in just two and a half months. With everything getting bigger by the fortnight, a terrabyte is going to look like a megabit by the end of next year...Okay, maybe not a megabit, but you get the picture.
Especially for those black-market gamers planning on burning XB360, PS3, and Revolution games. 40 gig of a double-sided Blue-ray disc won't look pretty on anything but a machine with a terrabyte or two. |
