Re: Blue-Ray vs. HD-DVD I still haven't gotten to listen to Major's newest podcast, so this is just based on what I've heard.
Right now, HD-DVD's have better quality because the codec used to display videos is better than what Sony has allowed other companies to use. And even though Blu-Ray can output at 1080p to HD-DVD's 1080i, Blu-Ray currently converts 1080p to 1080i, then upscales back to 1080p.
And also, currently based on what's available, the HD-DVD does have a higher capacity than Blu-Ray, though that will be quick to change since the technology lends itself more to higher storage spaces with Blu-Ray.
