My Windows XP got owned.

Well, after trying to install a secondary OS, I completely screwed over windows. It does not work now, And I have lost all of my previous data. I am really angry right now, for I lost all my games, documents, everything. I have Ubuntu running, as now it is my primary OS. I have lots of software to occupy me, but I am frankly aggravated at not being able to use and windows games or apps. F*** you windows!

Back-ups and ERD's are your best friend. When you go to the boot menu, does it show that you have both OS's as options? If you do, start up Windows in safe mode, and use the boot log to figure out where the problem occured and you may be able to REM the driver that messed up Windows. If you can, then you should be able to get your data back once you get a good system start up on Windows. BTW, did you partition your hard drive for another OS? And, did you enable dual booting in your BIOS/CMOS?

Gib, I did enable dual booting, but the problem is that when I select Windows XP from the boot menu, (Safe mode isn't even and option) it has the DOS underscore line flashing and it then does nothing. I contacted my computer manufacturer, and they are sending me a Windows XP Media Center Edition recovery disc, so I will be able to run Windows again, but I have lost all my data since my last backup.
