Default Water Cooling?

Anyone here have a water cooling system that they installed in their PC? I have been thinking about install a system... but I don't know. Is it worth buying all the parts and putting it together? What all do you water cool and how much colder does the processor really get?

I've not done a water cooling system, but I can tell you that it's really something you would want to do if you are running a very high-class machine that performs a lot of processes and generates some extensive heat. From what I've read, it's not that hard of a process, but you have inherit downsides such as a possible breach soaking and frying your system.

Look into the BTX form factor (ATX being current). This new PC layout design is setup for better cooling and circulation for fan-based units and will have a "wind tunnel" effect that is much more efficient.

If you're looking to keep your current system cooler, there are plenty of options out there (and cheaper) for fans. There are fans and heatsinks that dissipate heat much more efficiently than your stock components. I'd look into that myself.

Careful with water cooling though. If something happens to break, your chips get ruined . I would go for a convential fan cooling system. They can be very efficient as well.

Yeah, I think I am going to stick with my current heat sink until I get a new processor and mobo, which will be a while.

Heh, i only wish me comp had the hardware to create that heat. But my motherboard and processor both come from one of those tiny flat vertical computers, so the mobo is like, laptop size. On top of that, my tower is quite spacious, and most my hardware is older and not as bulky as newer parts. All this makes it vary airated and roomy in my tower, and the airflow is great in there. I have a high rpm fan in there.....so yeah, my comp stays cool .
