BF2 card requirements

I was investigating whether my Radeon 9250 could play BF2, and alas it could not. I read some person with the same card asked support if something would be done, and he said the guy told him they might make a fix. Is it possible/probable for a game with steep requirements to make more cards able to play the game?

Your Radeon should be able to play it no? I didn't think the minimum requirements for that game were that high. And they shouldn't be, otherwise no one would buy it..

I looked up in google to see if it could, and a bunch of threads had people saying it wouldn't play(just cut to the desktop, no game at all). There are cards worse than it that run it, so thats why I'm p'od. I guess its just because its one of the last PCIs...sigh

If it will even work AT ALL, you'll be getting under 10 FPS on the lowest settings. It will basically be un-playable. I have a 6800 gt and every once and a while I get a FPS drop.

Sorry, but that's the problem. The PCI bus is slow and far from the processor. That's why they made AGP (put closer to processor and North bus) and PCI-X has a much faster bus speed than standard PCI (though benchmark testing shows AGP 8X and PCI-X 16x are almost the same).
