I'm doing a part time sentence over at Gamecrazy (needed a crappy, low responsibilty job while going back to school full time). Aside from the first week or so after launch, we've had them all the time. Granted, we've had them in bundles, but if people really wanted the systems so bad, having to buy a couple games and a warranty with it shouldn't deter them, especially during Christmas (not to mention they're going to need these things, anyway).

By the time a couple days before Christmas rolled around, we dropped it to just requiring getting to warranty so we could try to get them off the shelves. Not a surprise we had to do that, really, since most people who bought the system through preorder (where a bundle wasn't required) picked up barely anything with it, anyway. With the price being what it is, even trying to get someone to buy a freakin' game with it if it wasn't required was almost impossible. I seriously even went to far as to tell people to think about it: if they weren't going to at least buy a game so that they had something to play on their 5 or 6 hundred dollar system, should they even be buying the system to begin with? What are they going to do...set it up, look at it, and walk away satisfied?

But I digress....

The thing is, it hasn't only been us. EB and Gamestop have had them consistently (one of the guys I work with, his girlfriend works at EB, and they've had them on a regular basis) and on the 23rd we checked the Fred Myers store next door to find several PS3's sitting on the shelves, though it's possible that they MAY have finally sold out by the end of the night (there was one still there when I got off work at 9:30). Mind you, for a brand new system that's supposedly so hard to find and it being just a day or two before Christmas, these things shouldn't be sitting on shelves for ANY amount of time.

The Wii wouldn't be, that's for sure.
