PSU isn't part of the whole XBox Live thing, as in you don't even need XBox Live to play it. You just pony up your 10 bucks a month and that's it.

The question you SHOULD be asking is "why do I have to pay 10 bucks a month when Sega has NEVER done any substantial updates or done anything about cheaters to the game to justify the monthly fee since PSO on the Dreamcast?"
