I've played the game, though not extensively. One thing that is really odd with the game are the physics, or more to the point, the physics of the character when they fall off the board. If you get some good speed and bail, there are times when you're character will go flying across the level and won't stop until you hit something. Then, they bounce around with the dopey "rag doll" effect that everybody thinks is so cool these days. It's a small thing, but it's extremely noticeable. The level design isn't all that impressive (though it hasn't been in years, so what else is new?).

As for storyline, I didn't pay any attention to it since Story mode is the worst thing EVER to happen to the Tony Hawk series. The 4th installment is when the series started going south (by them taking out the two minute times) and the THUG series was just pure garbage. How anyone can actually like that idiotic crap is beyond me. It was nice to see a return to Classic mode with THUG 2 and American Wasteland, but both games sucked when it came down to it. The only Hawk game worth a spit since part 3 has been Sk8land on the DS. But, I digress.....

Just from the early reviews, it doesn't seem that Project 8 isn't changing any of that for the better. Though if anyone actually liked THUG, they may be just fine with this new "offering".
