Of course you don't remember. Nowadays, every character has to have some attempt at a flashy name (that usually falls flat because marketing departments suck like that and should keep their noses in their own business, creating magazine ads and commercials and such....but I digress) featured prominently on the box, throughout the game, yadda yadda ya.

It wasn't like that back in the day. Nobody cared about that crap. The game's name was Kid Icarus and for all we could care, that was his name, too. I'll bet most people spent years referring to Samus Aran as Metroid. Heck, I still do from time to time.
